Principal's Message

Welcome to Ranch View Middle School. My name is Erin Kyllo and I have the honor of being our middle school principal. My family moved to Colorado from Minnesota in 2019 and we are ecstatic to be here! I moved into the Principal’s office after 16 fulfilling years in the classroom, followed by an exciting year as an Administrative Dean. This will be my sixth year as a Middle School Principal, and I look forward to each and every day! I feel so lucky to be the leader at Ranch View and I am beyond thrilled to be part of this wonderful community as well. I look forward to another tremendous year of learning and growing with students, staff and families.

I am committed to high levels of learning and excellence for every child, every day. Every student is valued and worthy of our personal best. Ranch View has a strong reputation for providing quality education for our students. We are committed to helping each child develop academically, socially, and physically in a safe and welcoming school that includes partnerships with our community.
I believe no significant learning happens without significant relationships. I want our students to feel loved and supported while they thrive in an environment that has high expectations and provides real-world learning opportunities. Students will experience collaboration, creativity, and innovation. Ranch View Middle School exists to provide a high-quality International Baccalaureate education that develops inquiring, caring, open-minded, and thoughtful students who demonstrate intercultural understanding and respect for all people. IB provides students with multiple advantages as they embark on their educational journey!

I have an open door policy, please feel free to call or stop in for a visit anytime. I am open, honest, and empathic. I will always follow my “True North” which is…..what is best for kids! I look forward to working in partnership with you! Feel free to contact me with any questions.

RVMS News

Community Service Day
Community Service Day is scheduled for Friday, October 8. Our students will participate in a variety of projects at school and throughout the community. Students must register, submit permission forms, and pay their $12 fee in order to participate. This fee will cover community service day shirts and supplies for service projects such fleece blankets, glitter calming jars, paint, gardening supplies, garbage bags, hygiene kits, etc. The link to registration and permission forms will be emailed home next week. Parents who wish to help during the day can submit this volunteer agreement as soon as possible. We thank you for your support and look forward to giving back to our community.

RVMS - Novel Adoption
RVMS is putting three books up for district adoption, see DCSD's Novel Adoption Program. These books may be used in Enrichment to support our Social Emotional Learning or in core classes as they fit the curriculum. The titles are: Ghost by Jason Reynolds, Refugee by Alan Gratz and Science of Breakable Things by Tae Keller. Pit Crew 2021-2022

P.I.T. Crew is the "Parent Teacher Organization" of Ranch View Middle School. We rely on volunteers to serve in leadership roles and to help with activities to support teachers and students. Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention- Governor Polis has put safeguards in place, but families are reporting it is still happening. A resource to share with them.
Updated Douglas County Human Resources Covid Relief
Eyeglasses and exams- Hide in Plain Sight has vouchers available for your students who are homeless or in dire need (use your best judgement) and their families to receive FREE eyeglasses and exams from Black Diamond Eye Care. You can contact Joe Roos at Hide in Plain Sight if you know of a student struggling to afford eyeglasses. Joe would like you to contact him for this resource as a way to vet the needs of the family.
